First off, you will be required to be in our graduation dress code to participate in Cibola’s commencement ceremonies.  The dress code is as follows:

1. White cap and gown with gold stole purchased from campus specialties. They are a local company and so you can visit their store, or you can order online.  The deadline to order for the cheaper bulk order price is December 1st, 2022.  Order from Herff Jones - (505) 275-9357. 1529 Eubank Blvd # B, Albuquerque, NM 87112  

2. Students must wear a white dress with white or nude dress shoes or black slacks, white dress shirt, black tie, black socks, and black shoes.  Traditional cultural attire may be worn under the cap and gown.  Questions about attire should be directed to Ms. Chavez.

• Senior Panoramic Photo - Optional. The panoramic photo will be taken at 8am on November 1st.  You will receive your free senior T-shirt at that time. To pre-order photos use the QR codes below.

  • Formal photo only, $35

  • Formal photo, fun photo, and 23' photo, $55

• Prom - April 15, 2023 in the Cibola Concourse. Cost is $25 per person. Tickets are now available. The link is only to purchase tickets for Cibola juniors or seniors. If you plan to bring an outside guest, you will receive the link when you turn in a guest form. If you plan to bring a sophomore or freshman, use the underclassman link. You will have to enter the dance with your guest. Only one guest per junior or senior, regardless of whether the guest is a Cibola underclassman or a non-Cibola guest.

• Powder Puff - Optional. April 20, 2023. 6:30pm

• Senior Finals - May 5th and 8th.

• Senior BBQ - Optional. May 11, 2023. 6:00 pm The BBQ is not required, but it is fun and free!

• Caps and Gowns will be handed out on Thursday, May 11th at Cibola High School, at 1pm. You cannot receive your cap and gown until your account is clear of all fees. You can check ParentVue/StudentVue online to pay student fees.

• Friday, May 12th - Grad walks. We will do Graduate Walks at our neighborhood elementary schools and James Monroe. While this is not required, the students that have participated in the past have found these “walks” to be a highlight of their graduation experience. More details to follow. We will most likely start off at 7Bar at 9am and then go to James Monroe.

• Monday May 15th Required - 5:30 pm – Honors Assembly, Cibola concourse

  • At 5:00 pm all graduates must report to Cibola for graduation rehearsal followed by the Senior Awards Assembly. The Awards Assembly begins at 6:30pm. Doors will open at 6:00.

  • Attendance, in full graduation attire, is mandatory. Full graduation attire means cap, gown, and stole, white dress or black slacks with white dress shirt underneath.

• Graduation is Tuesday, May 16th . The ceremony begins at 6:30 pm at Tingley Coliseum. Graduates will be asked to show up by 4:15 pm. There are no tickets required for admission. Doors open at 5:30 for spectators. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Noisemakers, glass vases, balloons, and signs are prohibited. ADA seating available.
